More Info - Spell Mate

 

This handy sized literacy practise board is a really useful way to practise and learn word endings and beginnings.

The board is double-sided with one side for word endings such as -at, -ice and the other for word beginnings such as m-, fr-, pl-.

Use this board to play in pairs or a small group in a race against the sandtimer! Who can make the most words in the time? It's a fun and interesting way to find and build basic words and reinforce the sounds of letters and letter blends.

  • Throw the dice to choose the word beginnings or word endings to start from. Then in one minute list all the words you can from memory (or with the help on the left hand side of the board) that use the chosen beginning or ending.

  • Easy for children to use on their own or in small groups.

  • The sandtimer gives motivation and a score sheet keeps a record of the words made. A useful tool for anyone having difficulties with forming words from the letter blends such as: b-at, sh-ip, br-ain.
