More Info - Pick up a vowel

Learn the 'short' vowel sounds (shown above) in this easy to play game. Start off with three letter words e.g. 'cat' then move on to four letter words e.g. 'pram'. It's great fun and as an extra if you wish you can even use a dry wipe pen and write the vowels in the words on the board as you go along.

Players choose a short vowel sound by throwing the dice e.g. 'a' (apple). They then place a counter on a picture that contains this sound e.g. 'cat'. The first player to place all their counters on the board is the winner.
