Literacy games can be a useful resource for practising key concepts with young children. Grammar Gamecard literacy games can be used by teachers as a resource for the classroom or by parents as a way to practise areas of reading, spelling or grammar with their children at home in a fun and easy way. With literacy games children do not even realise that they are learning, only that they are having fun. They are an excellent alternative to the endless use of worksheets and written tasks and can be incorporated into lesson planning very easily. Grammar Gamecard literacy games are suitable for many learners.
The card games are literacy games for English as a foreign language (ESL games) and they are literacy games for key stage 2 among others. As special needs literacy games they are adaptable for use with different levels of ability and different age groups, from age 5 to adult and for dyslexia help with spelling. The A3 size laminated board games, Sound Aloud, Go Phonic and Pick up a Vowel, concentrate on letter sound symbol relationships which are the foundation of early literacy skills. Therefore, as literacy games for spelling they are useful for key stage 1 level practise of different letter sounds and letter blends. The Grammar Gamecard card games are key stage 2 literacy games for areas of English grammar such as Homonyms and Collective Nouns.
